Tengku Dato’ Baharudin Shah bin Tengku Mahmud was born on Mei 30, 1945 in Pekan, Pahang. He was admitted as Barrister-at-Law at Middle Temple, London, in 1969.

Tengku Dato’ Baharudin Shah was appointed Judicial Commissioner in 1994 and served in the High Court at Kota Bharu. His Lordship was elevated to Judge of the High Court of Malaya in 1996 and served at Kota Bharu and Kuantan. His Lordship was then elevated to the Court of Appeal of Malaysia on August 1, 2003.

In recognition of his Lordship’s public service, he was conferred the honours of Kesatria Mangku Negara (KMN), Darjah Indera Mahkota Pahang (DIMP) and Sri Indera Mahkota Pahang (SIMP).

Tengku Dato’ Baharudin Shah is married to Datin Rukiah binti Hassan and they have 5 children.
